China orders Iran finance opening

TEHRAN, Sep. 09 (MNA) – Reporting on the senior Chinese officials’ order for opening of Iran’s finance, Iranian deputy industry minister said that a high-ranking Chinese delegation will visit Iran next week to discuss steel projects.

Describing the latest status for the opening of Chinese finance for Iran’s steel projects, Mehdi Karbasian, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade said in an interview that, “an Iranian delegation is currently staying in China in order to finalize finance opening of Neyriz and Shadgan steel projects by the end of this week.”

“Unfortunately, to the chagrin of the Iranian side, no finance had been opened by China for Iranian project in the last 8 months; however, after being informed about this situation, senior Chinese officials issued special orders to expedite the opening of Iranian financing for these projects,” added Karbasian.

He further asserted that, “after the negotiations with the Chinese side, they have the necessary cooperation in this area and it is hoped that the steel projects will become activated within ten days; meanwhile, talks on Jajarm and South Aluminum Projects are also being carried out.”

According to Karbassian, Jajarm aluminum project had stopped a long time ago. On the other hand, the South aluminum project, which has recently started is awaiting funding through financing in order to attract the necessary resources. Accordingly, a high-ranking delegation from China will visit Iran next week to discuss the matter.

“The country’s steel projects will be funded by one billion and 800 million euros of Chinese finance,” he concluded.
